Technical Services is the department in the library responsible for selecting, acquiring, organizing, and maintaining the library's materials in all formats. Technical Services staff order, receive, and process books, journals, and audiovisual materials housed within the library and provide access to and maintain electronic databases, ebooks, and online journals. Staff also arrange for book and thesis binding.
The Library uses Wert Bookbinding, Inc. in Grantville, PA for books that need binding and repair.
Graduate Theses: At least one copy of all print theses, dissertations, and special projects must be retained by the Library for the Graduate Theses Collection. The cost of binding this and any required or additional copies is borne by the student and/or the department. Students are not limited to the number of copies they wish to have bound; however, the Library does not make the copies. Theses should be delivered to the Library printed on letter size (8 1/2 x 11") paper, in order, with all required signatures, and with the correct orientation. Personal binding: The Technical Services Department can accommodate faculty members who need binding services for personal books that need repair. The cost of binding is borne by the faculty member.
